"The songs will disappoint anyone hoping for individuality or inspiration of the kind that shines through, say, Grieg's or Nielsen's outputs ... The performances here are dedicated and dutiful but frankly not easy to listen to ... Iben Vestergård's tone is vinegary, bulgy and unsteady, and her intonation is by no means reliable. Nor are the accompaniments - on a bulky-sounding Fazioli - especially fluent, and the recording quality itself lacks bloom ... At least Danacord should be saluted for giving specialist collectors the chance to hear them at all".
