Skotske Calvin Harris er med en række charmerende electro-popsange garneret med firserkitsch blevet en af de helt store stjerner på poppens himmel. På sit tredje album er han som flere andre gået i eurodance-mode. Lyden er tungere og mere bombastisk, synthfladerne er markante og vokalarbejdet er lagt i hænderne på prominente gæstesolister som Florence Welch, Ellie Golding og Rihanna, som Harris før har skrevet sange til. Så kan det meget vel være, vi er nogle som synes at det musikalske skifte virker kalkuleret og savner Harris' legesyge charme - "18 months" er populært og vil tage kegler.

Nothing else on 18 Months matches up to the blockbusting collaborations with Kelis, Florence Welch and Rihanna (although his reconciliation with Dizzee Rascal, Here 2 China, is a lot of fun)".
