"In short, one can safely affirm that An Acoustic Tribute To Cream does not aim to present ambitious or vastly different reworkings of Cream's material. Instead, and in an equally commendable fashion, the record offers a respectful nod to the original compositions while allowing the talented lineup of musicians to showcase their skills in a different musical context, providing fans with a refreshing perspective on one of rock music's greatest acts".

"When James Harman died on May 19, 2021, he had been working on a number of songs for inclusion on his next album, and they're now collected on Didn't We Have Some Fun Sometime. Eight of the songs are from livestream performances Harman and the band recorded during the pandemic, and the other four songs on the album come from various past studio recordings. What's consistent through all the songs is Harman's joy in making music and his ability to move through a variety of blues styles, revealing the depth of his immersion in the music".

"[Pete] Brown and [Ginger] Baker both contributed to the album before they died, adding a dimension to the music that connects to its origins. While the versions on this tribute album feature strings and their sonic architecture builds on acoustic spaciousness, most of the songs are immediately familiar, and the stripped-down versions often bring out qualities sometimes masked by the heaviness of the originals".
