"Live from Bakersfield finds the Doors in a nearly trance-like state in a concert held in late August 1970. Recorded during an especially intense time in the band's run when singer Jim Morrison was dealing with legal issues, they spend the concert floating through medleys and extended jamming, sometimes slipping into covers of favorite blues songs, and sometimes stretching their songs out into cathartic epics ... Despite the questionable sound, the energy is intact and comes through loud and direct. It's a less-than-clear document of a moment right before Morrison and the Doors began completely unraveling, and it documents one of their most electric performances".
