"I enjoyed very much the preceding three volumes in this cycle from the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie under their previous principal conductor Karel Mark Chichon ... After a hiatus of more than three years (I reviewed Volume 3 in December 2016), the baton has passed - quite literally - to the orchestra's new leader the Finn Pietari Inkinen. The calibre of the playing remains but sadly I found this new disc to offer little in the way of individuality or indeed personality to persuade a collector to pursue this cycle further ... With so many versions offering more character and personality it is hard to recommend this competent disc with any enthusiasm".

"It's just about the most lavishly played recording there is, with the Bournemouth Symphony in grandest form. The rich, wide strings, full and bold brass players, and overall luxury sound help confirm the symphony's greatness".

"Serebrier considers the Symphony 'a masterpiece'; and his admiration for it is clear in this affectionate and lovingly shaped reading with the responsive Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra ... with its preface of spirited and sensitive accounts of three Slavonic Dances, this is a recommendable addition to Serebrier's impressive Dvorak series".

"So sehr beeindruckt der Einsatz bei Antonin Dvořáks zweiter Sinfonie und - eine echte Entdeckung - der Dramatischen Ouvertüre op. posth. B 16a ausfiel ... Das sind deutlich Frühwerke, aber indem Inkinen das nicht unterschlägt, fesseln die Talentproben".

"Vurdering: IRR outstanding" - "This performance is outstanding in every regard. It possesses a profound sense of genuine forward momentum without at any times tending to hurry ... The phrasing is excellent ... the Bournemouth Symphony here shows it is a world-class orchestra and its response to this fine conductor is admirable".

"Serebrier connects with the music's excited busyness, attending to the string lines with particular affection, keeping energy levels high but never sounding aggressive or overwrought ... Serebrier and his Bournemouth players provide a safe recommendation".
