"This album is Miloš Karadaglić's first release in three years ... There are versions of pop songs, ... film tracks ... and actual guitar pieces by Francisco Tárrega ... Saxophonist Jess Gillam features on two tracks ... the combination of instruments is a revelation. These pieces, and the classical works ... are more artistically successfull than the insipid pop, ... but , like Miloš's previous disc of Beatles arrangements, will no doubt be commercially welcomed. Still, 'Sound of Silence' whets the appetite for the guitarist's - hopefully upcoming foray into bigger repertoire".

"Blackbird contained some beautiful renditions by Milos of songs by The Beatles. However, almost every moment demonstrated that the transition from pop to classical on that album was a relatively straightforward one. 'The Sound of Silence' is more ambitious in that it casts its net much wider, drawing on rock repertoire ... It's a recipe that works well at times ... In comparison, standard pop arrangements featured here, such as Paul Simon ... Leonard Cohen ... The Moody Blues ... fare less well, sounding altogether more clichéd and predictable ... The remaining tracks on the album focus on the ... standard classial guitar core repertoire ... where one senses that [Milos] ... remains at his most comfortable and assured".
