A different journey

"Drummer Chico Hamilton considered this quintet (which also included Charles Lloyd on tenor and flute, trombonist George Bohanon, guitarist Gabor Szabo and bassist Albert Stinson) to be his finest band. This superb LP (...) has several memorable melodies (including the closing "Island Blues"), lots of advanced yet logical improvising, and more than its share of variety. The group had its own sound and was quite underrated during its relatively short life. A gem".
