"'It was a little too personal... it scared me'. Over 45 år efter ...

"It turns out Homegrown was more of a natural continuation of the weird, stoned splendour of Time Fades Away and On The Beach than the lush singer-songwriter fare of Harvest. Which is no problem at all - it allows for the devasted and delicate piano ballad "Mexico"; the spooked one-two of the spoken word piece "Florida" and the wracked acoustic slice of doom, "Kansas"; and the rowdy love letters to weed, "We Don't Smoke It" and the title track. Not quite what was expected, but something altogether more interesting".
