"Clocking in at about 35 minutes from start to end, Mileage feels like a pure expression of self as it seems to find Foster in a space of acceptance and appreciation for the experiences that have come with living life to the fullest. With its through-line of positivity, the album's appeal only grows with repeated listenings and is also likely to be a pleasure to hear live".

"Through it all, Foster's voice is the guiding light, steering us through each stop and style. She's in full command of the journey. What becomes clear is Foster's dexterity as she steps through each root style, with a command rooted in the power and depth of her voice".

"'Mileage' is a revelation. [The Texas blues/folk singer] is looking back at a long life and bringing a feeling of hope to everything she's seen. As always, Foster moves effortlessly through the crossroads of blues, folk and soul, buoyed by a roof-shaking voice and ace band. You'd think that folks from Foster's generation, or from [the] generation before, would be beaten down by the turn to the far right we're experiencing in the US, but if she can anchor herself in love and hope, then we all can".
