"Reissue of the month" - "Red Rose Speedway, however, really benefits from this reissue. Maccaphiles will know he was on a hot writing streak at the time and originally planned a double-album. Released now in its intended state, it's a tougher, more substantial and muscially broad album. The newly road-hardened Wings pull off a collection that reflects their love of US music, McCartney again on sparkling, inventive melodic form. It's the missing link beween the homespun charms of Wild Life and the bombast to come, hinted at by the alternate takes of Live And Let Die".
