"To those of you who are unaware of Alex Puddu he is a multi-instrumentalist revolving around percussive jazz, psych-groove and other '70's soundtrack genres. He was born in Rome but has been living in Denmark for 28 years. On his new album, which is more of a funk/neo-soul record he has hooked up with the legendary American latin-soul musician and singer Joe Bataan ... And this album does indeed sound like a modern version of Spanish Harlem music scene in the late 60's and 70's. It's very latin-soul and boogaloo - genres that are still relevant today, just look at Joe Bataan's 2004 masterpiece "Call My Name". This has always been Alex Puddu's great strength - taking something from a certain time-period and perfecting it, whatever the genre".
