Da et fly rammer ind i World Trade Center forsøger en gruppe politifolk, at trænge ind i bygningen for at redde overlevende ud. Tårnet kollapser over dem, og de fanges hårdt sårede under murbrokkerne, hvor de i mange, lange timer forsøger, at holde modet oppe.
