"The album contains too many bright points to list in one brief review. Tasteful and judicious use of extra-musical sounds, great horn arrangements, and the many clever lyrical turns of phrase are just a few treats that are left for fans to discover themselves. The album delights from cover to cover and each individual song reveals new gems with each listen. 4801 South Indiana Avenue might be Joanna Connor's best, and its bold, powerful character suggests that her next may likely be even better".

"Musically, 4801 South Indiana Avenue is Connor's most focused outing. It arguably showcases her world-class talent better than the others, simply because, unfettered from the practical concerns of a session, she can - and does - pursue this music for its own sake. With Bonamassa and Smith assisting, Connor's performance offers her iconic playing, delivered with joyful abandon and plenty of attitude".

"Connor has plainly paid her dues. She is prepared for whatever additional attention Bonamassa can provide for what is one of the more intense blues studio discs in recent memory and a clear highlight in Connor's already impressive resume".
