"Second solo outing from one of the world's great and most instantly recognisable voices, once of the 21st Century's finest festival band, Spain's Amparanoia ... Her last one was recorded partly in Texas with Calexico and partly in Cuba. This one - apart from Muchacho, another Calexico collaboration, and Free Day with Howe Gelb (...) - was all recorded in her home studio or in Barcelona last year. It features a lot of interesting guests although the core is always Amaparo's voice and guitar and her long-time Amparanoia sidekick Jordi Mestres on guitars and basses ... Those deeply twanged spaghetti western guitars which so perfectly compelment her vocals are a strong feature throughout ... Not a party record: this one's for listening and curling yourself up around. Soul singer indeed. A thing of beauty".
