"Great album of acoustic but energetic desert blues ... As the guitarist and lead vocalist of Etran Finatawa, he is a prominent figure in the movement's "second generation", but this album marks his first attempt at a solo career ... Aficianados of the burgeoning desert blues scene owe it to themselves to listen to this fine record, as do fans of guitar playing, followers of trends in world music or music lovers in general. This is a terrific album that deserves a wide audience".

"Alhousseini Anivolla has taken leave from Tuareg fusionists Etran Finatawa to explore his musical heritage on this, his first solo album ... Throughout, the record hums with a quiet kind of power. That this is Anivolla's first step into the limelight sometimes comes across and his vocal performance sometimes lacks confidence. His voice however is a beautiful one and works well with his laid-back, crisp rhythm guitar which chimes throughout the record ... Anivolla's song-writing also feels like something of a departure from Etran Finatawa, heavy as it is with lo-fi, jazzy vibes ... A great start from a promising new solo artist".
