"Slim's originals are just as solid as the covers. "Sunrise Blues" is an old-fashioned slow shuffle with smooth Albert King-meets-Chuck Berry guitar work. "Gambling Blues" and the mostly instrumental "Country Joyride" give Slim a chance to show off his considerable chops, showcasing solos full of thick comped chords, distorted bass runs, and clear chiming lead lines".

"Vurdering: Good" - "Magic Slim (now aged 75 years) plays an intense brand of Mississippi to Chicago blues that never fails to impress, his gritty voice pushing raw lyrics in your face, his guitar licks stabbing like punches from a pro-boxer".

"There really aren't any surprises here - that's not what Magic Slim is all about, and it's not what his fans want. Instead, the man continues to be true to himself, and Bad Boy joins it's predecessors as another exemplar of quintessential Chicago blues in the groove".
