"One thing that is immediately clear from listening to these 15 tracks is that this band is supremely tight from working together on countless gigs. The ground they cover ranges from Chicago blues to classic 1950s R&B to Memphis style southern soul ... Overall, the vocals are competent, but the Blues Shacks are operating at a disadvantage as vocalists. They're just not in the same league as the artists from whom they are drawing inspiration. They make up for that with solid instrumental chops and a crisp recorded sound, although the overall recording might benefit if they eased back from time to time. Everything is delivered full steam ahead, and a little space might go a long way. Nevertheless, with Breaking Point, BB & the Blues Shacks demonstrate their mastery of an array of blues-based forms and show that they are capable of investing the music with an unbridled enthusiasm".
