"Loke Rahbek is going to make you want to upgrade your speakers. Again ... The album's nine tracks are defiantly severe; the disc reads like a 34-minute endurance test. It's not without its comforting moments, but they're all quickly interrupted. Its beauty (and it is dramatically beautiful) lies in its uncompromising authority".

"City Of Women might not have as much bite as, say, the Puce Mary collaboration of The Female Form. Nor does it quite reach the emotive heights of Croatian Amor. But it's a great introduction to Rahbek's music in general".

"Med den store variation mellem hvert enkelt nummer virker "City of Women" næsten som en katalogisering af Rahbeks tidligere værker, der ofte har kredset om seksualitet og romancer i forskellige afskygninger. Hvert nummer er på sin vis som gallerier fyldt med tidligere myters skitseringer over hudens manglende identitet, de glatte overflader, der kun bugter sig om det rumlige kød nedenunder ... Industrial-genren ender ofte i seksuel og voldelig grænsesøgning, men det gør "City of Women" egentlig ikke. Det virker snarere som en fysisk følt romance mellem parter, der endnu er fremmede for hinanden - det kolde stål og den varme hud, værktøjet og dets producent".
