"'Coat Of Arms' plays it safe and the most you could say about this album is that it could have been made in the early seventies ... From the start, the twin guitar harmony indicates you are back with the masters of heritage rock whilst the title track is also marked by those characteristic robust rhythms and fluent soloing".

"Wishbone Ash er altså ikke blandt de hårdest rockende bands på kloden. Men indimellem har bandet da udgivet gedigne hard rock-album. Men det er mere den bluesinspirerede og melodiske engelske rock, som har været kendetegnende for bandets mange album. Men så er der altså lige det med de to leadguitarister, som gør Wishbone Ash interessant for mange lyttere ... Er der så noget at hente på det nye album? Jo, såmænd. Det er ganske hæderligt. Det er ikke særligt hårdt rockende, men så er der jo igen det ganske ferme guitarspil".
