"In an unusual twist, he sings only one of the 13 presented, the Gerry Goffin and Carole King-penned, Memphis-inspired "On This Side of Goodbye." The remainder are either neat instrumentals, or are conveyed in voice by a cast of his friends, resulting in an up and down rollercoaster of thrills ... All these singers deserve lots of recognition. But in every case, Duke Robillard remains the star, playing guitar with now-legendary sophistication, and ample twang".

"Each track brings another stellar performance from this band. While Robillard has achieved practically every milestone in his illustrious career one has eluded him. The Duke Robillard Band is again a contender for "Band of The Year"".

"Some of these tunes are familiar ("I Am a Lonesome Hobo," "Yellow Moon," "Yes We Can") but most are not. They cross several genres and could only be gathered in one set like this by someone like Robillard who is so well versed in multiple styles ... This is so different, with Robillard's deft feel and creative touches, encompassing an era when music was much simpler, that it stands apart from anything in Duke's catalog. Surprisingly, it's one of his best recordings".

"The variety of voices, along with Duke's eclectic song choices, makes for an entertaining, if slightly off-center, collection of songs ... the Duke and his courtiers can play it all, so their genre-defying can o' Ear Worms are tasty bait for anyone who can hadle a collection that covers everyone from Dylan to Patti Page to the Neville Brothers".
