"Four complete shows from Cream's final tour, including a previously unreleased set from San Diego ... For Cream, this tour might have been their farewell but for the most part it was also business as usual, and there are few concessions to nostalgia or sentiment".

"Jamming might have been rife at the time, but no band sounded quite like this; guitar, bass and drums dogfighting as equals, dropping musical bombs that took the breath away when they exploded in perfect synchronicity, though - as this set attests - it could occasionally sound as if each member was playing a different song. Clapton likened it to each member showing off as Baker battled to hear himself against Bruce's escalating volume ... Even if Clapton is the only member surviving to see it, at last they get to say goodbye on a suitably representative monument".

"Cream Goodbye Tour - Live 1968 is an important release and even though it took 52 years for this material to be released, at least it is here today finally. Sweet Cream, indeed".
