"Deltas are made up of Lo'Jo's violinist Richard Bourreau, Vincent Erdeven, guitarist and keyboard player with French dub-rockers Zenzile, and Andra Kouyaté on n'goni ([brother to ngoni master Bassekou Kouyaté, but] best known for his work with Tiken Jah Fakoly). Together they create something which doesn't sound much like anything they do in their various day jobs. It's blues, but of neither the African desert or US varieties. Unhurried contemplative acoustic music that draws on the roots of all concerned, but goes off somewhere else entirely. They call it "a blues of the River Loire" ... Pleasingly low key, with echoes of West African roots music (especially Baaba Maal's finer unplugged moments), acoustic blues, folk and (unsurprisingly given Bourreau's violin) French Gypsy swing".
