"The third album and best so far from another Belgian - spellbinding chanteuse, MELANIE DE BIASIO, who won a legion of admirers with her 2014 album, No Deal. Though her blues and jazz-steeped vocals have drawn comparisons with Nina Simone, De Biasio's spacey, atmospheric soundscapes with their tenebrous, brooding tone come across as futuristic rather than retro. Melancholy without being depressing and intensely dramatic, De Biasio proves here on this superlative nine-song collection that No Deal was no fluke".

"A thrumming version of "Afro Blue" excepted, Lilies is a set of originals -- one that's enticing and breathtaking in an unconventional, as in almost stifling, sense".
