"Ramon Goose's bursting intelligence and prowess as a singer and guitarist are matched by his gift for exploration. His latest release (...) charts the considerable progress he's made over the years uniting the blues with the melodies and grooves of North Africa ... Originals like "Wandering Sheikh" and the title track are invested with so much stimuli that repeated listens are required to unlock all their treasures".

"Essex's finest Anglo-Argentinian blues guitarist, Ramon Goose, always seems to have so many projects on the go that it can be hard to keep up ... Recorded in London and Marrakesh, these nine tracks may open with a Robert Johnson cover and close with some Bo Diddley, but both of those songs get relocated to the desert and in between there are Berber chants, powerful West African vocals, Algerian oud and a shedload of other Saharan influences, alongside the tasty blues licks. Guests include Justin Adams (...) and Anglo-Asian legend Najma Akhtar, whose vocals on the moody "Morning Light" are a highlight. There are moody soundscapes, poppier singalong, nods to Rachid Taha, Davey Graham and Ali Farka Touré ... A brief album, but there's much to enjoy here".
