"Evans' voice is a constant pleasure, a high, soft croon carefully enunciating the cryptic, the mystical, the mundane and the downright hilarious, sometimes simultaneously ... The arrangements, brilliantly handled by producer Cate Le Bon, are often a Beach Boys delight, sometimes an electro swirl complemented by an acoustic strum as on "Suppression Street," and on "I Need Him" a heavenly, countrified minimalism ... There are multitudinous joys to be found here - humor, sadness, and warm, true tenderness, all enveloped in the delicate velvet of strange and magical pop music. It's time H. Hawkline received the due kudos and love for his wonderful work".

"The Welsh singer-songwriter's fifth album, written in the wake of his mother's death, is a slow-burning triumph ... An affecting album of depth and beauty".

"Huw Evans turns heartache into leftfield pop beauty ... The driving stabs of piano and gorgeous falsetto on the opening "Milk For Flowers", at it rises into quiet euphoria, results in such a stirring song that when the sudden, anguished cry of "I miss you so much" comes, it feels like a whiplash. Cate Le Bon helps extract the pain from her friend with delicacy ... 'Milk For Flowers' is intimate, introspective and melancholic, yet peppered with moments of joy, elation and hope. His best album so far".
