"As striking as Obey's more abstract songs are - the title track reaches mystical heights as Henderson croons and whispers over a dense fog of synths and drums as big as cauldrons - the album's most direct songs are among its finest ... At once more deliberate and more liberated than their debut, with Obey Exploded View challenge their listeners to be as free as as their music sounds".

"Despite their diverse influences and concepts, Exploded View keep Obey in control, without allowing their various tendencies to drag them to a specific style. The result is a polymorphic record, which displays an affinity for the new wave and post-punk scene, but is keen on enhancing their core with further influences".

"While the group's debut was bogged down a bit by a feeling of anonymity, contrastingly, 'Obey' bustles with character. 'Come On Honey', the penultimate track, is the best summation of the group to date. Beginning like a tilted pop song - all underlying sweetness - it digresses into heady, lysergic territory with a surging bassline and vocals that seem to float off the recording and into the ether. Totally immersive".
