"Sung entirely in Welsh, barring "a couple of verses of Zulu" and its English-language title, Pang! hits the ear so lightly that you might very reasonably wish to rub it all over your soul as a spiritual balm. Many of Rhys' catchy, high-summer, upper-atmosphere melodies stop mere millimetres short of outright frivolity; and the tiptoeing instrumentation has a war-is-over, dance-in-the-fountain-at-night blitheness about it ... Even though clouds occasionally gather at the margins, the sun and moon nevertheless shine brightly throughout Pang! It's a persuasive, heartening, softly seductive little basket of light".

"Acoustic, pastoral, global ... and as unpredictable ... Sung in Welsh, produced by South African artist Muzi, Rhys's latest is a chamber folk-rock minor masterpiece".
