"Musikalsk set er de vanvittigt dygtige, Jon Howells licks i 'Oxygen Tent' eller solo i 'Splicing' er betagende, men det er i samspillet med den rå, nærmest a capella-stemning, der skabes i 'You Had a Plan', at det går op i en højere enhed. Hvor mange andre bands måske nok spiller tungere på realplan, er Kowloon Walled City mestre i den sjælelige tyngde. Det er ikke årets tungeste plade. Men det er måske den mest vægtige".

"With Piecework, KOWLOON WALLED CITY have - knowingly or not - produced what could be the soundtrack to our current times. It is the regret of Sunday mornings after Saturday nights when we're old enough to know better. It is the heartache and frustrations of Tuesday evening burn out, wondering what the point of it all is.
