"A significant milestone for Pink Sweat$, who got his start as a demo vocalist and songwriter behind the scenes. While there is a predominantly acoustic ballad among the new material (in the form of the breezy "Paradise"), Pink continues to add layers to his sound while refining his transparent and kindhearted expressions of affection, longing, and commitment. Among the best of the new material here are "Magic," "So Sweet," and "Heaven," blissed-out love songs that incorporate touches of classic gospel, blues, and soul without pandering to throwback addicts".

"Always clad head-to-toe in pink with undeniably charming vocals, Philadelphia-born David Bowden (known professionally as Pink Sweat$) is already an inviting artist. The beautifully minimal sound of his respective Volume 1 and Volume 2 EPs may have been a showcase purely for Bowden's skills in laying down some typically melancholic breathy vocals, but Pink Planet more than compensates with some classic R&B instrumentation ... Accompanied by a celebratory gospel choir and concluding with an albeit brief but twinkling jazz solo, [opener "Pink City" sets the scene] for an inward-looking record that navigates self, love and self-love with the utmost intimacy".
