"They hail from Spain, play a mix of Latin, reggae, punk and ska, full of yell-along choruses, swaggering horns and no-nonsense get-on-the-dancefloor rhythms. Yep, Bongo Batarko are a meztizo band in the style of Manu Chao, Ojos de Brujo and Amparanoia ... So why bother with this album? Haven't we heard this sort of thing done many times before? Well to some degree yes, but rarely as well as this. There's a deceptively simple song-craft at play here and a surprising lightness of touch (they skank rather than stomp) ... And all the things that such bands usually don't do well (singing in English, playing reggae) Bongo Batrako manage with ease. Try the bouncing Punk Parranda with its earworm of a horn hook, or Give Us Your Love, to get a flavour of how infectious this all is".
