"Chalk Farm-based Mushroom (1971-72) released a concise run of eclectic acid folk and experimental jazz records, mostly with an Indian tinge, arguably headlined by Ravi Shankar's Four Raga Moods (not available for this anthology), and containing a diverse choice of free blowing, free thinking, freewheeling work".

"As a package it's a great introduction to some fine but ultimately unsuccessful UK Pop and Rock from the mid-60s through to the early 70s. Though Mushroom, like a lot of early 70s underground ventures didn't last long and wasn't exactly flushed with success, it had some good bands and artists on the roster for the couple of years that the record company existed".
