"Some of this material has leaked out onto other releases in the past, some of it as early as live LP in 1974, other tracks have popped up on recent deluxe editions, but there's nothing like having it all in one place for one long celebration of the night. Excellent liner notes from David Fricke make for a robust package that you'll want to have and hold in the material world for some time to come".

"It's fascinating stuff ... It all goes to show a band who were treating each set differently, as a chance to try different things within the same framework - a group who could improvise or just play rock'n'roll, as the mood took them. And those who sniff at the post-John Cale lineup should listen to the tense, creepy versions of Venus in Furs here - proof that the Velvets were always more than the sum of their parts".
