"Basco tager sig måske ved første øjekast ud som folkemusikkens svar på Monty Pythons Flying Circus - og flyvende er de da nærmest også. Bare titler som "Batshit Polka", "The Tribulations of the Svendborg Stadmusicis" og "March of the frogs" samt bladring og læsning i det vedlagte hæfte viser, hvor sprudlende og fulde af sjove påhit de fire musikere er. Ale Carr spiller "body percussion" og synger "dyb, mandlig stemme" (udover selvfølgelig cittern og bones), og de respektive numre præsenteres i vilkårlig rækkefølge, så første nummer kommer sidst og så videre i den finurlige dur".
