"The London hardcore band's second album takes a bolder, brighter approach. Its embrace of self-love and community feels radical and hard-earned".

"Ithaca har med 'They Fear Us' skabt et album, der umiskendeligt hører til 2022, men ikke desto mindre griber al den modstand, vildskab og vrede, der har kendetegnet punken i hele dens levetid. Og selvom stemningen er mere aggressiv end hos GGGOLDDD, er det svært ikke at trække paralleller mellem `They Fear Us' og den dybt personlige og skrøbelige `This Shame Should Not Be Mine'. Med sin sammenblanding af metal, hardcore, industrial og endda 80'er-inspireret powerpop på `You Should Have Gone Back' og 'Hold, Be Held', er det også en plade, der er svær at rubricere og som kan blive ved med at overraske en lytter på nye måder for hver gennemlytning".

"Ithaca are done with feeling beaten down. While they were on their knees and screaming in pain on 2019's debut The Language Of Injury, they're got back up and are screaming for vengeance on the second time around. And while there are plenty of bands out there who are adept at presenting themselves as powerful, the London quintet are towering above them all, with such gargantuan sonic heft that it feels genuinely threatening, and cutting lyrics that bristle with violent sass (has anyone uttered anything more potent than 'Wash your blood down the sink / 'cause we don't keep souvenirs' this year?). It's never less than astonishing".
