"Atavistic Future sees Skøtt and Ovesen stepping further away from the wobbly world of Betamax vibes and dystopian dread of their debut. Instead, Videodrones is heading into the more experimental electronic world of Suzanne Ciani and the sparse compositional territory of Philip Glass and Terry Riley ... They haven't abandoned the seedy VHS fever dreams entirely, they've just evolved from it to something deeper and richer in composition and scope. Atavistic Future is a huge leap forward sonically, while still retaining essence of the past".

"The spirit of the five cuts here is at once experimental and improvised, sometimes drawing influence from classic minimalism, at other times recalling the early efforts of Kraftwerk and Neu! (before the robots took over) but with more contemporary electronics ... All taken, a great collection of ideas and influences".
