"These guys seem to strain against the tempo, never rushing but bristling with an almost impatient intensity. Compositionally, Fleck exploded any notion on this album that bluegrass was forever straitjacketed in its four-beat and threechordform. This was, is and probably always will be state of the "unplugged" art".
