Beim Maggio Musicale lässt es Dirigent Riccardo Frizza instrumental blühen und grünen. Rosetta Cucchi gibt der simplen Handlung mehr Tiefe, indem sie die Handlung nach Little Italy in San Francisco und das Sonoma Valley verlegt ... Wir sind etwa in den Seventies, es gibt noch Schreibmaschinen und Schnurtelefon ... Salome Jicia ist eine burschikose Suzel in Jeans, die mit voluminöser, nicht immer ganz freier Sopranstimme schliesslich doch auf Fritz Eindruck macht ... Insgesamt eine schöne Katalog-Ergänzung eines liebenswert-melodiösen Stücks aus der zweiten Reihe".
