"Synchronized with the 50th anniversary of the active Earth, Wind & Fire, Love Will Find a Way is Philip Bailey's first solo album in 17 years. That's a mighty long time -- longer than the time span between "Keep Your Head to the Sky" and "System of Survival." Nonetheless, this continues in the direction Bailey was headed on his 1999 and 2002 efforts for the Heads Up label, though the singer and percussionist goes deeper and farther out with a presumably larger recording budget. Like Dreams and Soul on Jazz, this release mixes originals and a greater percentage of interpretations, and above all else is a jazz LP".

"Earth Wind & Fire mainstay Philip Bailey's first solo album in 17 years is a remarkable dive into contemporary jazz. Wrapped in silk-smooth façades, Love Will Find A Way is - among other things - a celestial rumination on the state of the US' place in the world in the early 21st century. Don't be fooled by the charming veneers, this is an often-militant record. Love, is, of course, the answer to the problem. Bailey is not unique in this viewpoint, but at least his voice, one of the most distinctive in popular music, provides a soothing balm for troubled times".

"In the continuum of mashing R&B with jazz as rendered by jazz artists like Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah and others, we can now add Bailey to that list, from the R&B side ... This genre-bending effort, replete with these iconic names, is the kind of album that will deservedly earn Grammy attention. Kudos to Bailey for looking forward instead of back as so many of his contemporaries unfortunately do".
