"Mantra Moderne is the debut album by Kit Sebastian (Kit Martin, Merve Erdem) who fuse Anatolian psychedelia and Brazilian Tropicalia with 60's European pop and American Jazz ... An incredibly strong debut, Mantra Moderne is bursting at the seams with grace, wit, beauty and an irresistible groove. Its a meticulous record that allows rough edges to meld with warm pop aesthetics. A dance infused folk album that will hopefully catapult the duo straight into the homes of many across the world. Free thinking and free hip-shaking music that is captivating and addictive. Thoroughly recommended".

""Mantra Moderne" flirts not only with Brazilian Tropicalia and Turkish psychedelia, but also '60s European pop and US jazz. This cool, lo-fi brew is not unique (Thievery Corporation and Blow Up label artists occupy similar territory) yet [multi-instrumentalist Kit] Martin and vocalist and lyricist Merve Erdem boast an eccentric individualism ... Highlights include the great instrumental break in "Pangea"; and the B-movie vibe of "Yürüdüm, Büyüdüm, Çürüdüm". Things culminate on the title track, reminiscent of when late-'60s art rock bands needed to deliver a single for their labels; weird yet punchy, a skewed take on commercialism".
