"This analysis of the response of small outsiders to the completion of the European Single Market addresses questions such as: - What are the effects on small outsiders even if the Fortress Europe policy is rejected by the European Union? - Will outside companies choose to become ‘insiders’ by establishing subsidiaries in the European Union? - Is there a difference between the response of mature and innovative industries? - What governance structures are adopted by outside investors? The home countries of the seven contributors to this book are small, but all have intensive economic relations with the European Union. Hence this concern with the potentially negative effects of the European integration on outsiders.".
