<i>Less is more</i> kunne snildt være betegnelsen på dette 10. album fra Wu Tang-medlemmet Ghostface Killah. Det varer knap 40 minutter, til gengæld er det et af årets sejeste og mest blodige konceptalbums. Det fortæller historien - taget fra tegneserien af samme navn - om en sort gangsters rejse til Italien og mødet med den lokale <i>spaghetti mob</i>, hvilket ikke forløber fredeligt. Det er råt og det er cool, og med hjælp fra komponisten Adrian Younge og hans Venice Dawn-orkester spytter Ghostface det ene bloddryppende rim ud efter det andet. Hvis Ennio Morricone havde lavet hip hop-skiver, kunne "Twelve reasons to die" have været en af dem.

"Produced entirely by film composer Adrian Younge, this creepy cool effort is a comic book on wax that relates to a real series of comic books released by executive producer RZA's Soul Temple imprint. On top of that, it's influenced heavily by the Italian murder mystery/slasher film genre known as giallo, where everything is smoky, sinister, and '70s, and while that may sound complicated, overwrought, and insider, the end product is none of the above".

"Twelve Reasons to Die basically feels like a victim of haste. Ghostface has kept up a fiendish pace even this late into his career, but at this stage, his dogged clip is hurting his output. Now that he and Younge have had some rehearsal time, at least the live show for this record is almost certain to be phenomenal. And there are more than enough positive moments here to make the pairing feel worth that effort. In the end, Twelve Reasons is generous comfort food for Ghost's fanbase".
