The Encyclopedia of the Bible and Its Reception (EBR) pursues a twofold task.Firstly, it comprehensively renders the current state ofknowledge on the origins and development of the Bible according to itsdifferent canonic forms in Judaismand Christianity. Secondly, it documents the history of the Bible's reception, not only in the Christian churches and the Jewish Diaspora,butalso in literature, art, music, and film,as well as Islam andother religious traditions andcurrent religiousmovements. It provides an indispensable compendium of international research. Itis edited by an international team of scholars, all experts intheir field. The Encyclopedia of the Bible and Its Reception will contain approx. 9,000 keywords (mainlemmas) with some 11,000 sublemmas.
