"The guys take turns singing lead and harmonize like brothers, turning a funky Joe Tex tune ("I Want to Do Everything for You") into a honky-tonker, then laying out a Julie Miller-penned heartbreaker ("It Hurts Me"). In this case, it's hard to say that it's greater than the sum of its parts, because the parts are so dang good to begin with".

"Års erfaring fra talløse studier og landeveje klinger igennem på såvel sydstats-swingende sager som The Train That Carried My From Town og South in New Orleans som That's Not Even Why I Love You eller Lonely One in This Towns stilrene countrytoner ... To rutinerede musikalske håndværkere, der serverer en særdeles smagfuld cocktail af country, blues, cajun og andet godt".

"The production is functional, neither too glitzy nor too rough, and the playing, while as sharp as one would expect, doesn't jump out of the speakers as anything particularly out of the ordinary ... It may be a simple record in a variety of ways but, as one would expect, Buddy and Jim manage to make simple simply spectacular".
