"The four track album (...) is a journey into experimental worlds with off kilter noise, odd samples and various blips and bleeps that combine with real world sound fragments in short, 30 second mini-motifs strung together for what seems like an eternity ... This self-titled debut sounds like it was absolutely exhausting to make, which is why we listen to music of this sort in the first place; the struggle and challenge presented here is worthy our attention if not for pleasure's sake alone, but for the varied breadth of emotion that each mini soundtrack evokes".

"Children of Alice, despite the weightiness of its presentation, ultimately comes across as a playful experimentation between longtime collaborators ... . At times, the album suffers from sounding like the aural equivalent of the cut-up technique, dissecting and rearranging sounds for no discernible purpose other than momentary intrigue. Given enough space to fully unfold, however, Children of Alice becomes a fascinating entry from three invaluable innovators in indie electronic music".

"The collaboration between members of Broadcast and Focus Group creates lovingly rendered ambiance born of library music and musique concrète, steeped in eeriness and sweetened with wonder".
