"Hot on the heels of 2013's The Coming Tide, Winslow-King delivers another album of expertly-wrought new music that sounds old, in the really good way ... A fine singer, his slide and resonator guitars swing, sting and soar across the gospel title track, the elctric blues of Swing That Thing, the classic New Orleans jazz horns of I'm Your Levee Man, calypso on La Bega's Carousel and plenty of good ol' Southern rock 'n' soul, on the likes of Domino Sugar ... While Winslow-King's music may not possess the hobo-punk immediacy of Seasick Steve's output, it's easy to envisage his songwriting talent, outstanding musicianship and (very different) Man From Another Time persona attracting a very wide audience here indeed, given a similar break".
