"While Homecoming could hardly be described as a massively commercial record, it's certainly Du Blonde's most accessible album to date, and the short running time means that it never outstays its welcome. If anybody is looking for an alternative soundtrack as Spring starts to appear over the next few weeks, Homecoming is as good a choice as any".

"The grunge-pop guitar don is throwing a hell of a party, with Ezra Furman and Shirley Manson on the guestlist - and you're absolutely invited too ... Like Sleaford Mods' 'Eton Alive', the album opens with a belch, a Curb-worthy moment of comic timing that tells you how much fun Du Blonde's having as she lets it all hang out".

"The whole album conjures the catchiest moments of 90s Boston indie rock - Pixies, Belly, the Breeders. It's a style appropriated by many, but invoked by a genuine, dedicated kook like Houghton, those dynamics live and breathe. Smoking Me Out, in particular, is a riot - a campy, monstrously distorted vocal on the verse contrasted with a blissfully sweet, sharp powerpop chorus: DIY at its wilful, weird finest".
