Summary: "Immunity' is the fourth album from celebrated London producer Jon Hopkins. intelligent, dancefloor focused electronica crafted with real world samples that have seen it tipped as the most human electronic record to be unveiled this year. Written as the soundtrack to an epic night out, 'Immunity' is a step up from the ambience of Hopkins' prior releases. Created after months spent touring in clubs and at festivals over 2012, Hopkins gradually absorbed everything from classic European techno to the futuristic oddness of LA's Low End Theory club night, and these influences would emerge as he entered his studio to record 'Immunity.".

"Det er en af de plader, man lytter til med lukkede øjne uanset hvor mange, som kigger på. Et så modent og fremsynet kompendium af klavermusik og sprød techno kunne nemt gå hen og blive en af årets mest interessante elektroniske udgivelser".

"This emphasis on our admission to a physical space naturally makes us feel like we have privileged access to Hopkins' private emotional space as well. Immunity is said to be inspired by the arc of a night out, and whether or not that matters to the listener, it gives the album a holistic pace and flow, from heroically hurtling along on molten bass synthesziers to hovering gorgeously on gathering ambient breezes".

"Hidtil har han gjort sig mest bemærket som Brian Enos co-producer på bl. a. Coldplays »Viva La Vida« -album fra 2008. Men med sit fjerde soloalbum, »Immunity«, træder han for alvor i karakter som en af tidens mest begavede kreatører af elektronisk musik.Spændvidden er forbilledlig. Fra den Burial-inspirerede åbner, »We Dissapear«, over dyster organisk techno på mastodontnumre som »Open Eye Signal« og »Collider« til den afdæmpede »Abandon Window«, hvor beatet er erstattet af smukt knirkende klaverakkorder, rumlende ambiente flader og effektbehandlede reallyde".
