"Stu and Debbie Hanna [are] among the upper echelon of the new wave of Brit folk songwriters. If the fragility of their vocals and arrangements don't always do them justice, suggesting a debilitating lightness, the vivid imagery of their material strongly identifies them with a proud northeastern folk song tradition".

"The ever-youthful Stu and Debbie Hanna continue steadfastly to carry the folk tradition forward on In A Box ... It comes after a four-year gap during which they've been further fine-tuning their craft and reaching ever wider audiences with their lively performances. Though latterly based in Cambridgeshire, Megson continually specialise in unearthing songs from the north-east which mostly seem to have passed unnoticed even in the current, often exhaustive, resurgence of interest in folksong, and almost always richly deserve our attention ... Megson's takes on traditional song are typically stimulatiung and vibrant ... But Megson have another ace to play, for the duo's own original compositions easily stand comparison with their traditional counterparts in their canny portrayal of personal life milestones, universal events and regional occurrences".
