"... Kozelek remains an incredible storyteller, and the album is fascinating as ever to his faithful followers, it's likely to be exhausting, infuriating, or simply head-scratching to anyone who isn't already a fan of his. And as wonderful as Broadrick's musical contributions are, they recede into the background and aren't nearly as distinctive as his own work".

"Vurdering: B-" - "Someone should send Paul McCartney a copy of Sun Kil Moon's latest release - a blistering, yet thoughtful collaboration with Jesu (better known as Justin Broadrick, co-founder of industrial metal outfit Godflesh) - to prove that people still haven't had enough of silly love songs. It's gotten to the point that even Mark Kozelek seems like a romantic".

"Kozelek skriver stadig sange, hver gang han drikker en kop kaffe; død, familie og ulykker er brændstoffet, men humøret er lysere ... Og når man er færdig med den 14 minutter smukke afslutning, 'Beautiful You', er man klar til at begynde forfra".
