Paul O'Dette und Stephen Stubbs verleihen mit dem Boston Early Music Festival Chamber Ensemble beiden Werken klares eigenständiges Profil, und die Ergänzung um Stücke aus anderen Opern lenkt von diesen jeweiligen Profilen eher ab. Die Lebhaftigkeit des Instrumentalanteils (mit Cembalo, Erzlaute, Mandoline, Theorbe und Barockgitarre als besonderen zusätzlichen Farben) darf man getrost als besondere Qualität des gesamten Doppelalbums bezeichnen".
